About Selena

SelenaHailing from the wild redwood forests of northern California, Selena Rowan has made her home in Portland for the past two years. Ten years of herbal study in bioregional western herbalism and Ayurveda, five years of service as a community herbalist in retail apothecaries, and over 30 years of practice being a human inform her work.

Balancing a background in biology with a commitment to radical embodiment and reconnection to nature, Selena works to help uncover reservoirs of resilience in those she supports. Selena is grateful for the teachers who have supported her on this path: Christa Sinadinos, Greta de la Montagne, Traci Webb, K.P. Khalsa, Janet Czarnecki, Erico Schleicher, Sabel Regalia, and others. Selena dreams of a world where ideals of mutual aid, earth renewal, and love guide us in all we do.

Selena currently serves as an editor for Christa Sinadinos’ Essential Guide to Western Botanical Medicine, offers community education classes at The Herb Shoppe in Portland, provides database support for The American Botanical Council, and is co-authoring a guide to healthy grieving with Greta de la Montagne.

She is available for herbal consultations, plant walks, lectures on botany, plant identification, and medicine making, as well as research assistance and editing services for books, manuscripts, websites, databases, and more. She also sells non-exclusive rights to her photographs for use in your commercial websites or print media.

Congratulations on these next steps, Selena! Looking forward to following along. You are such a wealth of knowledge and geniune, kind hearted person. Loved my time at fettle with you. Felt so lucky to have had the opportunity to learn from you. Whenever I read something about Aviva Romm or Susun weed I think, in 30 Years, that will be Selena 😉
